Margaret Ada (Hooper) Bucklin

Obituary

   Margaret Ada Bucklin, age 92 of Alexandria, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022, lovingly surrounded by her family, after a brief period of failing health. She was born on October 29, 1929 in Sanbornton New Hampshire to Fred L Hooper Sr. and Ida (Woodard) Hooper.   

    She graduated from Franklin High School class of 1949 and stayed in touch with her remaining classmates until Covid struck.

   In 1945 she met her future husband Bill Bucklin whom she married in 1949 at which time they would settle in Alexandria and raise their two children, Ella and William.

   In younger years she was an avid snowmobiler, cub scout den mother and a CB radio personality later known as “Gram” and continued on the air until recent times. She was a good mother and grandmother, always helping others in need and assisting relatives who could no longer care for themselves. She enjoyed watching birds, especially humming birds and cardinals, the silver foxes that visited on occasion, reading, doing the daily crossword puzzles and took great pleasure in her flower garden filled with twinkling solar lights.

   Besides her husband of 42 years, who passed away in 1991, she was predeceased by her parents, sisters

Marion, Clara and Lucy, brothers Fred (Mickey) and Arthur.

   She is survived by daughter Ella Herterich and husband Lee Herterich of Hill, N.H., son William Bucklin Jr. and wife Joyce Bucklin of Alexandria, N.H., grandson Jamieson Dodge of Alexandria, N.H., granddaughter Rachel Bucklin of Alexandria, N.H. and sister Grace Dorval of Franklin, N.H.

   Margaret will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

   There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Her Life with be observed at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may made to the Franklin Animal Shelter.
