Janet Shirley (Ashworth) Jenkins

     Janet Shirley (Ashworth) Jenkins, of Dunbarton, NH left us to be with the Lord on December 29, 2022.

     Janet was born in Providence, RI. She was a loving mother to seven sons, six daughters-in-laws, twenty grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Janet is survived by her sons Bud Jenkins and his wife Linda of CA, Jeffrey Jenkins and his wife Cheryl of CA, David Jenkins and his wife Elizabeth of NH, Daniel Jenkins and his wife Kimberly of SC, Peter Jenkins and his wife Julie of NH and Paul Jenkins and his wife Annika of SC.

     Janet was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was best known for her warm heart and kind nature. Janet was a homemaker and in her later years an amazing teacher. Janet spent most of her days rejoicing in the Lord’s work at prayer breakfasts, attending bible study, bragging about each of her seven beautiful sons, reading, playing dominos, and watching college football. Janet will forever be remembered for her contagious smile and infectious laugh which brought joy to so many who knew her.

     Janet was pre-deceased by her husband of 63 years Floyd “Bud” Jenkins, father James Ellis Ashworth, mother Olive Ashworth, brother James Henry Ashworth Sr, sister Gertrude Ashworth and son Kevin Jenkins.

     Janet’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center for their love and care. Funeral Services will be January 6, 2023. All services for Janet will be held privately by her immediate family. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Floyd, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Janet’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
