George H. Anderson, 98, of Londonderry, passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2023 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. He was born in Brockton, MA the only son of Herman and Edith Anderson.
He was a WWII veteran having served the US Army. He attended Bentley College in MA and also earned a real estate broker’s license. George retired from the Boston Globe. Both he and his wife Adele enjoyed many years together in South Dennis, MA. They were members of Christ Chapel in Centerville, MA.
In 2015 they relocated to Londonderry to be closer to family. They were beloved members of Carriagetown Bible Church they both loved being part of including the highest regard for their Pastor Paul.
George was predeceased by Adele Anderson who went home to be with the Lord in August of 2022.
George is survived by his daughters, Janet Anderson (MA) and her close friend Jim Appleton, and Holly (Gwin) and his son Robert’s widow Marissa Anderson (FL). He was predeceased by sons Robert Anderson (FL), David Anderson (MA), and daughter Carol Anderson (CO). Between them George was blessed by 5 grandchildren along with great grandchildren.
George is also survived by stepdaughter Jean McGillick (MA), Margaret Carlson (NH) and son-in-law Richard Carlson, Jr. He was predeceased by stepson Robert Kearney (WA) and survived by Bong Sun Kearney. They also had 8 additional beloved grandchildren, along with great grandchildren.
George truly loved all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved to share his talent of building which included sandboxes, riding toys, doll houses, wagons and even dog houses! He also enjoyed tinkering with cars with his sons and grandsons. His favorite hymn was “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” 2 Corinthians 5:8.
There will be a private family service with miliary honors at NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
