William Russell Prescott

August 8, 1952 — December 10, 2025

Franklin

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Russell Prescott, 73, of Franklin, NH, on
December 10, 2025, he passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife by his side. He was a loving
husband, devoted father and grandfather, loving brother, and loyal friend.
Born on August 8, 1952 in Laconia, NH, William was the son of Robert Sumner Prescott and Mildred Arlene
Giles Prescott. He grew up in Meredith, where he attended Inter-lake High School graduating with the class
of 1970. In the 60’s and early 70’s he raced sled dogs along with his brothers Jack and Bryan. In 1972 he
earned his Associate Degree in Applied Science in Machine Tool Processes, from the New Hampshire
Vocational-Technical College in Laconia. William worked for Arwood Corporation for many years as a Tool
and Die Engineer. In the early 90’s William established his own business, PatrAngie Mold, successfully
operating the business until he retired in 2018. In 1986 William moved to Northfield then to Franklin where he
lived for the remainder of his life.

Beyond his professional life his passion was coaching baseball. Coaching Babe Ruth, Franklin High School,
Winnisquam High School, and American Legion. William was a dedicated coach whose players often looked
up to him. He was not only their coach but a role model for them. He loved coaching and sometimes had to
take his players on a walk. For decades, he poured his heart into every practice, every game, and every
young athlete who stepped onto the field. Known for his steady guidance, encouraging words, and belief in
hard work over glory, he shaped not only better ballplayers but better people. One of his greatest
accomplishments in life was winning the State Championship with his 2009 Franklin High School team.
Coach Prescott will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will live on in every athlete who carries forward his love
for baseball and his commitment to teamwork, perseverance, and kindness. His biggest reward was the
lifetime friendships he built with many of his players. His escape from normal life was riding his Harley
Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed every mile traveled with his wife and friends.

William is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Sylvester) Prescott, his daughters Angela Wescott Sawyers of
Boston, Christina Prescott Watson (Sam) of South Carolina, and his son William Prescott of South Carolina.
His grandchildren Riley Sawyers, Courtney Caddell, Caitlin Bond, Jerry D. Trammell, Jr. and 4 great
grandchildren. His brothers, Robert Prescott and Bryan Prescott (Hollie), Brother In-law Dan Sylvester
(Renee), Sister In-law Tinya Rivard (Paul) and many nieces and nephews that he held very close to his
heart.
