Call to Order Flowers by Phone1-877-212-3610 Code: 2001526P Tilton, NH Mr. William W. Joscelyn, 89, a longtime Tilton resident, died at his home on Dec. 1, 2015 with his family by his side. Bill was born in Tilton on July 1, 1926 the son of Edward and Ida Mae (Mills) Joscelyn. He was raised in Tilton, the youngest of eight sons. Bill graduated from Tilton-Northfield High School in 1944 ad chose to remain in Tilton the rest of his life. He was married to Louise (Storey) Joscelyn, former Tilton Town Clerk, who died in 2002. He retired from the US Postal Service after 21 years as a mail carrier. Throughout his life, he has served his community well. Bill was a member of the Tilton-Northfield Fire Dept. for 16 years. He helped organize the Tilton-Northfield Little League and coached a team (Brown Belt Shop) for many years. Bill also held the position of Recreation Director for several years and was a high school soccer referee for 20 years. Bill served as a Selectman for the Town of Tilton for 6 years, on the Budget Committee for 4 years, State Representative for 2 years, and filled in on various committees whenever he was asked or needed. Bill was instrumental in starting the Tilton Historical Society, served as President, and donated many items and photographs. During retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking care of his property of the Winnipesaukee River. Family members include his daughter, Colleen Gloddy and her husband David of Tilton, his son, Christopher Joscelyn of Tilton, 2 grandsons: Scott Gloddy of Tilton and Ryan Gloddy of Northfield, 4 great grandchildren, Benjamin Gloddy, and Teagan, Loralie, and Kinzey Nelson, and many nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, services will be private. A Celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date.
