He was married to Marie Newbold. He is survived by his brothers Fred Chartier and Edward Chartier.
He was predeceased by his sisters Valida, Theresa, and Louise, his brothers Joseph, Alfred, Richard, Andrew, and James.
He had been a pattern maker for Cluett Peabody in Troy, N.Y. He had served in the New York National Guard.
William attended St. Gabriel Parish in Franklin, N.H.
He was “Uncle Bill” to so many and greatly loved by his nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
