Mrs. Urbina "Martha" Patten, of Salisbury, died at her home on Aug. 15, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born in Clarksville, NH on Sept. 29, 1929 the daughter of Harold and Mary (Haley) Terrill. Martha attended schools in Manchester and was a graduate of St. Joseph High School for Girls. She worked for 18 years at Beede Electric in Penacook and lastly as a ward clerk for over 8 years at Merrimack County Nursing Home prior to retiring. She married Dennis Patten on July 1, 1950 recently celebrating their 65th year together. They moved to Salisbury in 1951 where they lived ever since. She was active in various organizations including the Salisbury PTA, Bartlett Grange, and until recently the Salisbury Community Congregational Church. Martha and Dennis chaired the Old Home Day Parade for many years. Probably, their most cherished memory was establishing the Salisbury Little League in the early 1960's and remained involved for 18 years including Martha sewing the original uniforms. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her only sister. She leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Dennis, a son, Harold Patten and his wife Sue of Salisbury, a daughter, Linda Hebert and husband Paul of Gilmanton, grandchildren Scott Patten and his wife Lauren of Palm Bay, FL, Sarah Hebert of Pembroke, 3 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, a cousin, and nieces and nephews. Per her request, there are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 at 11 am at Salisbury Community Congregational Church, 13 Franklin Rd., Salisbury, with Pastor Kerry Richardson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery. A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall.
