Therese Denoncour

Franklin, NH Therese Denoncour, 90, died peacefully with family by her side at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire, on March 10, 2017, after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Franklin, Therese was born February 21, 1927, the sixth of ten children, to Nestor Lemire and Marie Lavoie. In 1950, Therese married the late Maurice Denoncour, a devoted husband and father, with whom she had six children. Therese was an exceptional woman who demonstrated ongoing commitment to her family and community. She was employed as a cook at the Sisters of Mercy Convent at St. Paul's church and at the Franklin School District. She was an active member of St. Paul's church and served as Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters. She also served on the City of Franklin Recreation Commission. Therese volunteered extensively in Franklin - as a foster grandmother at Paul Smith's school, at the Bread and Roses kitchen, at Veteran's Memorial Ski Area, and within St. Paul's church. At the age of 64, Therese obtained her GED at Franklin High School after leaving school as an adolescent to help her family. Therese enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, and above all, spending time with her family. She loved family reunions, and she was happiest when her entire family attended, over 100 strong. To those who knew her, Therese will always represent unconditional love, strong faith, and hard work. Therese's family will remember her for her laughter, kindness, and remarkable generosity. Therese is survived by her sister, Jeanette Marcucci of Eastham, MA; as well as her six children, Jeffrey Denoncour of Laconia; Anne David and husband Peter of Glen Rock, NJ; Mark Denoncour and wife Theo of New Hampton; Michele Landry and husband Steve of Tilton; Carol Montambeault and husband Ra of Franklin; and Paul Denoncour and wife Laura of Clarksville, TN; twelve grandchildren, Joshua Montambeault; Jennifer Hammond; Jennifer Charles; William Hammond; Paris Landry; Esther Edgell; Jason Denoncour; Ellen Denoncour; Adam Denoncour; Adrian David; Nicolette Denoncour; Cheryl David; five great-grandchildren; and 29 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Maurice, as well as her five brothers and three sisters. A mass celebrating Therese's life will be held Wednesday, March 15, at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Church, 108 School Street in Franklin, NH. Spring burial in Franklin, NH at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private. A reception will follow. There are no visiting hours.
