OBITUARY Mrs. Sylvia C. Lemire, 85, of Gilford, NH, formerly of Franklin, died at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia on Aug. 28, 2011. Mrs. Lemire was born in Haverhill, MA on Aug. 20, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Marie Ange (Bolduc) Doucette. She was raised in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill High School. She also graduated from the University of NH. Several years ago, she taught second grade at St. Mary School in Franklin, NH. She next taught home economics at Franklin High School for 11 years until 1981. Mrs. Lemire later worked as a sales rep for Electrolux, and for 4 years as a social worker for the State of NH in Laconia. She last worked for Hannaford's for several years first at the Gilford store and lastly at the Franklin store. She was a member of NH Retired Teachers Assn. and volunteered at St. Joseph Church in Belmont. Mrs. Lemire was the widow of Gerard Lemire who died in 1968. She enjoyed gardening, reading, quilting, and travelling. Family members include her children: Gary J. Lemire and his wife Thea of Andover, MA; Keith A. Lemire and his wife Sharon of Franklin; Elise L. Smith and her husband Terry of Hill; Steven J. Lemire and his wife Cindy Hunt of Gilmanton; and Michele L. Peterson and her husband David of Gilford; 8 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Bernard Doucette and her sister, Yvonne Lavoie. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Aug.31st from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at 10 am at St. Joseph Church, Church & Main Sts., Belmont, NH. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill, MA at 2:30 pm.
