Susan M. Hilliard

Susan M. Hilliard, a cherished resident of Northfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Franklin, NH, on July 3, 1953, she grew up in the Tilton Northfield area, Susan lived a life marked by dedication to her family which she loved, community, and passions.

Susan grew up in Franklin, where she developed a love for the outdoors. A graduate of Winnisquam Regional High School, she went on to earn her bachelor's degree in physical education from Plymouth State College.

A dedicated professional, Susan shared her skills and warmth as a Banking Liaison at Franklin Savings Bank in Franklin, NH. Her career journey also included many joyful years as a waitress at Mr. D's Restaurant, where she formed lifelong friendships and became a beloved figure in the community.

Susan was a devoted wife to her husband, Robin E. Hilliard of Northfield, NH, who she has been together with for 53 years. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brothers: Peter and his wife Donna Dascoulias, George Dascoulias, Frank and his wife Sharon Dascoulias, and Steven and his wife Alexis Dascoulias. Her extended family includes her brother-in-law Scott and his wife Jensine Hilliard, her sister-in-law Carol and her husband Arthur Carignan, her sister-in-law Colleen and her husband Ronald Drapeau and her brother-in-law Jamie Hilliard. Susan leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who benefited from her kindness and guidance.

She was predeceased by her parents, George "Gus" P. Dascoulias and Margaret L. (Hannan) Dascoulias, her sister Katherine Hoyt, her brother-in-law Mark Hilliard, and her sister-in-law Ann Dascoulias.

An active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 49, Susan was committed to serving her community. She loved gardening and spent many happy hours tending her flowers and fishing at local spots with friends and family.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home in Northfield, NH. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Tilton-Northfield United Methodist Church in Tilton, NH, at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside service at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH, at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Susan's memory to the Humane Society in Laconia, reflecting her love and compassion for all living creatures.
