Shirley was called home to the Lord after a brief illness and hospitalization, surrounded by those who loved her.
She was born to parents Herbert Eugene and Armilie Rosealma (Viens) Godfrey in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Shirley was a proud mother to four children, Christopher, Shannon, Jennifer and Sarah. She was a loving wife to her husband of 37 years Louis A. Poirier. Shirley had 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren that she loved dearly.
Shirley was an avid crafter for most of her adult life and loved to crochet, knit and cross stitch. She also loved plants, gardening and cooking. She was an avid music fan, particularly Meatloaf and John Cafferty. When she wasn't spending time with those she loved, she enjoyed spending time watching NCIS because Gibbs was her favorite.
Shirley was reunited in heaven with her beloved Lou, and children Christopher and Jennifer. She is survived by her daughters Shannon Lanman, Sarah Poirier, her sisters Theresa Godfrey and Irene Sargent, her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
In lieu of traditional services a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
