Mrs. Sarah L. Hobbs, 100, of Franklin, died at her residence on Oct. 31, 2015. She was born in Puerto Rico on April 15, 1915 the daughter of Carlos an Anna Delores (Del Valle) Vera. Sarah came to the US in 1943 settling in New York City. She resided in Manhattan for 27 years moving to Franklin and later Pinellas Park, FL in 1978. Sarah and her husband, the late Harold L. Hobbs, returned to Franklin in 1996. Harold died on Nov. 1, 2005. While in NY, she worked is the shoe manufacturing industry and while in Franklin was employed at Webster Valve until retiring in 1977. She attended St. Paul Church in Franklin. She is survived by grandchildren including Janet Veramaza and Albert Rochet, and a nephew, Bruce Taylor of Franklin. She was predeceased by her sisters: Ann Taylor and Margaret Vasquez, and two sons, William N. Rochet and David D. Vera. Burial and private services will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Franklin.
