Sally Allard

November 19, 1939 — February 27, 2025

Sally D. Allard

Sally Davis Allard of North Conway NH on born on November 19,1939 and passed on February 27,2025. Sally was the daughter of Smith Clark Allard and Dorthy Davis Allard. Raised on the family farm, she had a life-long love of nature and animals.

She divorced her husband John in 1976 and dedicated her life to raising her five children. Sally completed her master’s degree at Plymouth State College while teaching Chemistry and Physics at Merrimack Valley High School in Penacook NH. During her 3 decades of teaching Mrs. Allard, as she was known professionally, was well respected by both facility and students alike. One example of how she touched the lives of those she worked with was the day she was called down to the principal's office at the start of her physics class. When the principal escorted her back to her classroom, she was welcomed to a surprise birthday party in her honor organized by the students. The cooperation of the staff and students to give her this party spoke volumes of the friendships she developed both with students and her colleagues.

Sally left teaching, returning to the family farm in North Conway after her brother Raymond passed. She lived on the farm as her father's caretaker for the remainder of his life.

In retirement Sally focused on her study of Christian Science and her love of knitting. She found great joy reconnecting with her college roommate Fran Richardson. Sally and Fran would spend endless hours plotting and scheming about what clever gifts each could come up with to baffle the other for special occasions. Sally always looked forward to visits from family and friends. Specially treasured was time with her cousin Nancy Rexford, which always left Sally reliving memories from their shared childhood summers on the farm.

Sally is survived by her brother Marshall Allard, her sister Jane Wright and Jane’s husband Marshall Wright, her cousin Nancy Rexford, her four sons David Allard, Charlie Allard and his wife Tammy Allard, Donald Allard and his wife Jennie Allard, and Daniel Allard, her son-in-law Larry Powell, her nephew Denny Wright and his wife Sharon Wright, and her 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sally was predeceased by her brother Raymond Allard and her daughter Diane Powell, wife of Larry Powell.

There will be a private committal service for family and friends when her ashes are interred at the Conway Village Cemetery at a date to be determined.
