OBITUARY Northfield, NH Mr. Roy L. Jordan, 92, of Northfield, died at NH Veterans Home in Tilton on Feb. 3, 2015. He was born in Colebrook on Aug. 30, 1922 the son of Roy A. Jordan and Lumina (Ledoux) Jordan. At age 2, his family moved to the Tilton-Northfield area where he resided until his death. He was a member of the first graduating class of Tilton-Northfield High School in 1940. During World War II, Roy served with the US Army Signal Air Corps in the South Pacific area. Prior to retiring in 1983, he owned and operated Jordan Electrical Co. for many years. Active in many community affairs, he served two terms as a Northfield Selectman. He served many years as a volunteer firefighter for Tilton-Northfield Fire Dept. as well as Fire Chief following in his father's footsteps. Prior to his death, he was the last living volunteer Fire Chief for the department. Roy was a member and past president of the Holy Name Society at Assumption Church and was a life member and Past Commander of Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post #49. He was member of VFW Post #1698 and life member of the Franklin Elks #1280. He was also a member and Past President of Tilton-Northfield Lions Club where he coached their little league team, and a charter member of Tilton-Northfield Alumni Assn. Roy was a longtime incorporator and trustee of the former Iona Savings Bank. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was a member of Mojalaki Country Club for many years. He most loved spending time with his family and close friends, and especially showing off his great dancing skills with his beautiful wife. Family members include his wife of 68 years, Wanda (Lepianka) Jordan of Northfield, 7 children: Diane E. Jordan and Patricia K. Laliberte, both of Tilton, Judith A. Flanders and husband Chuck of Sanbornton, Daniel L. Jordan of Tilton, Thomas J. Jordan of Northfield, Bruce R. Jordan and wife Shiela of N. Berwick, ME, and Jan M. Andrus and husband Frank of Sanbornton, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Jeannette Stuart of Machias, ME and Brenda K. Wethersbee of Holden, MA, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Robert Jordan, a sister, Joyce Lessard, and a son-in-law, Al Laliberte. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015 from 2-4 at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield, NH. A Mass celebrating Roy's life will be held Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 at 11 am at St. Mary of The Assumption Church. Spring Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
