Robert James Parsons born October 2, 1935 passed away on January 3, 2016 after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. Robert who was widowed from Barbara (Rego) Parsons in 1996, leaves behind 4 Children: Judith Scollon and spouse, Duncan Scollon of Santa Cruz, CA, Jayne Parsons of Penacook, NH, Joanne Parsons and partner, Tracy Richardson of Laconia, NH, Robert Parsons, II of Arlington, MA; 3 grandchildren: Meredith Scollon Fasolino, Nathan Scollon and Elijah Parsons and 1 great grandchild, Liam Scollon. He is also survived by a brother Edward Parsons of Belmont, NH. Robert was born in Somerville, MA. He lived in Cambridge, Waltham and Belmont MA and summered in Sanbornton and Canterbury, NH. His latest residence was Singer Island, Florida He was proud to have served in the Navy as a deep sea diver and underwater welder. Robert was married for 42 years to his childhood sweetheart Barbara. After Barbara's passing he was lucky to find a wonderful friend and companion in Patricia Papa. His children and grandchildren thank him for the amazing days on Lake Winnesquam where lifetime friends were made and memories of a fun, generous father and grandfather will never be erased. He was known to many in the Cambridge area, as owner of: Bucky's, Cambridge Auto and Pats Towing. He considered Cambridge his home. His children wish to honor him with a service at Story Chapel, Mt Auburn Cemetery, 580 Mt Auburn St., Cambridge, MA on Saturday January 9 from 10:00am - 11:30am. Entombment will follow as a procession to the Crypt. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Parkinsons or Alzhiemers Foundations.
