Rita Hines

July 3, 1931 — November 28, 2015

Rita (Nadeau) Hines 84, of Franklin, died at her home Saturday November 28, 2015 after a period of declining health. Born in Portsmouth N.H. Rita was raised in Laconia, and attended local schools. In 1952 she married her beloved husband Lenny Hines. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Franklin, and there, raised their three children. After a 25 year career in manufacturing with Insulfab, Rita enjoyed a long and happy retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and seeing the sites in Alaska; Hawaii; Florida; and cruising the Caribbean. However, when asked what was her favorite part of her trip, Rita would always respond... "Coming Home!" As delightful as these adventures would be, what she most loved and cherished was spending time with her family. It could simply be a cup of coffee on a quiet morning, or any excuse for a big family cookout. And it was always fun to load everyone in the car, and get an ice cream cone at the Franklin Dairy Bar....she would just love it! Of course Rita was thrilled and would marvel as she would watch her little brood of grand children grow, thrive and start their own families and careers-there was no question, they were her pride and joy! Rita was predeceased by her parents Cleophas and Beatrice Nadeau; and her husband of 57 years Lenny Hines. She is survived by her three children Mike Hines and his wife Caroline of Hill; Bob Hines and his wife Sue of Franklin; her daughter Sandy Kelley and her husband Buzzy of Franklin. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Dan Hines; Andrew Hines; Peter Hines; Danny Hines; Emily Hines; Kelly Antinarella; Julie Rondeau; and five great-grandchildren. At Rita's request there will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul's Church in Franklin on Friday, Dec. 4, 2105 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Franklin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Rita may be made to The Franklin Animal Shelter located at 71 Punch Brook Rd; Franklin 03235 For directions and an online guestbook, please visit www.neunfuneralhomes.com .
