It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita A. Hebert, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and community member, who left us on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on Thursday, November 21, 1929, in Franklin, NH, Rita spent her entire life contributing to the fabric of the community she loved.
Rita was a proud graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1947. She dedicated many years of her life to working at the Miss and Master Clothing Store and the IGA. Rita also worked as a substitute rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Her commitment to work was mirrored by her devotion to volunteerism, as she generously gave her time to the Franklin Regional Hospital, the Franklin Food Closet, the Share Program, the Merrimack County Nursing Home, and the Trip Center.
A woman of deep faith, Rita was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She cherished spending her winters in Mesa, Arizona, where she enjoyed the company of family and friends and the warmth of the sun.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred P. and Yvonne (Laliberte) Perreault; her beloved husband, Jacques "Jake" Hebert; and her brothers, Roland and Norman Perreault.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: sons Paul Hebert and his wife Lynne, Mark Hebert, Mike Hebert, Bruce Hebert and his wife Denise, Tom Hebert and his companion Vicky, and daughter Jeanne and her husband Dave Krueger. Rita was also blessed with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a number of cherished nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the professionals who truly cared for her at the Golden Crest in Franklin in these last years of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Church, 108 School Street Franklin. Burial will follow the service at 12 noon at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. A luncheon will follow the burial at the American Legion in Northfield.
Rita will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. May her soul rest in peace, knowing she left the world a better place.
