Franklin, NH Mrs. Rita (Mercier) Durgin, 90, of Franklin, died at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen on Nov. 25, 2014. She was born in Franklin on June 24, 1924 the daughter of Adelard and Helen (Dussault) Mercier. Rita resided in Franklin all of her life. She was employed at Sulloway Mills in Franklin for many years. Rita was the widow of Edward Durgin who died in 1979. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel Parish in Franklin. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and word and jigsaw puzzles. Family members include her son, John Durgin and his wife Denise of Henniker, grandchildren: Shaun Durgin and his wife Marianne of Dania, FL, Rachel Farrell, Kira Durgin, and Nichole Durgin, all of Henniker, 3 great grandchildren: MacKenzie, Maddilyn, and Kassidy, her brother, Alfred "Ray" Mercier of PA, and cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 from 5-7:00 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass Celebrating Rita's life will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014 at 10 am in St. Paul Church. Spring burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
