Rita Duff

Franklin, NH Mrs. Rita Duff, 89, of Franklin, died at Merrimack County Nursing Home on Oct. 12, 2012. Rita was born in Franklin on Oct. 3, 1923 the daughter of George and Maxima (Goupil) Lavertu. She resided in Franklin all of her life until moving to Gerrish Manor at Merrimack County Nursing Home. Rita was the last daughter of a family of twelve and attended St. Mary School in Franklin and Presentation of Mary in Hudson. She was a member of St. Jean de Baptiste Society and the Sodality of Our Blessed Mother. Rita was a communicant of St. Paul Church and a former greeter and Eucharistic Minister. Several years ago, she worked at Gilman Hosiery, Sulloway Hosiery, and the JP Stevens Co. Her husband, Robert J. Duff died in 1959. Rita is survived by several nieces and nephews and friends both in Franklin and at Merrimack County Nursing Home. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday (Oct. 16, 12) evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday (Oct. 17) at 10 am in St. Paul Church with burial following in Holy Cross Cemetery.
