Richard Bruce Krauz

April 3, 1956 — July 3, 2025

Richard “Bruce” Krauz, 69, passed away at the Merrimack County Nursing Home – Boscawen after a long battle with multiple sclerosis on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025.

He was born in Franklin, New Hampshire, on April 3rd, 1956, to the late Walter Krauz Sr and Norma Krauz (Pomerleau) both originally from New Hampshire.

He married Sylvianne Krauz (Pratte) on Christmas Eve in 1976. They had two children together, Katie and Steve.

Bruce was a builder by trade, and he built his family’s home from foundation to finish. He also built many camps on the Pemi, near the Krauz family beach in Franklin. This is where generations of family and friends to the Krauz’s have enjoyed countless summers, thanks to the Krauz boys.

Bruce was very inventive and came up with many creations over the years, far too many to list. He was always busy and enjoyed using his sawmill.

Even when Bruce was diagnosed with MS, he never lost his amazing sense of humor and his love for life.
In his later years Bruce became quite the comedic movie junkie, with all the classics in his arsenal.
Bruce was a great man who will be missed by many and not easily forgotten.

Bruce was predeceased by his wife Sylvie, his parents, and siblings Walter and Tanya.

Surviving family members include his daughter Kathleen (Katie) Schunemann and her husband Dustin, son Steve Krauz and his wife Janelle Krauz, his grandchildren Korbin Chase, Hailey Schunemann, Ayer and Lane Simpson, Colson and Beckett Krauz, his brother John Krauz, sister in law Cindy Krauz and his sister Bonnie Riggins.

A Celebration of life for Bruce and his wife Sylvie will be planned for late August at the Krauz family beach. Please contact his son Steve Krauz (603-729-7408) if you would like details.
