Biography Franklin, NH Mr. Richard A. Grant, 92, of Franklin, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on Sept. 2, 2015. He was born in Franklin on Sept. 3, 1922 the son of Herman and Nellie (Martin) Grant and was a lifelong Franklin resident. Mr. Grant served in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations. For 33 yrs., he worked at Brezner Tannery (Allied Leather) in Penacook. He later worked at the Hannah Dustin Transfer Station in Penacook and Tilton Prep School as a security guard. Mr. Grant was a member of Franklin VFW Post #1698. He enjoyed gardening, the Red Sox, watching WWE Wrestling, and especially playing scratch tickets. Family members include three children: Patricia Colby and companion Tony Leonardi of Franklin, Joan Blad and husband Ron of Northfield, and Robert "Swampy" Grant of Franklin, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial in NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. Donations in memory of Mr. Grant may be made to Franklin Fire Dept.
