Richard Gordon

Richard Andrew Gordon, 63, of Franklin, died at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia on July 16, 2011. Born in Springfield, VT, April 3, 1948, he was the son of the late Paul and Phyllis (French) Gordon. He was married to the former Phyllis Weikel on July 2, 2005. He lived most of his life in Franklin and worked at Franklin VFW Post 1698. He was educated in Springfield, VT. He was a life member of VFW Post 1698, where he currently held the chair of Trustee #1. Richard also served as Past Post Commander and Past District 4 Commander where he also held many other chairs. He was also a member of the Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post #49, and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rachel Gordon, Rochdale, MA, Nicole and her husband Scott Eveland, Coal Twp., PA, a granddaughter, Abigail Roberts, Rochdale, MA, and two grandsons, Andrew and Warren Eveland, Coal Twp., PA, a brother, Russell, The Villages, FL. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 12 noon at NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. A funeral luncheon will follow at the Franklin VFW Post 1698.
