Raymond Gaudette

(603)934-2408 Franklin, NH Raymond J. Gaudette, 83, died Oct. 3, 2014 at the Peabody Home in Franklin surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born March 8, 1931 in his home in Franklin where he resided his whole life until recently. He attended local schools in Franklin. Raymond worked at Sulloway Hosiery Mill where he met his wife, Lucille Doris Braley. They were married on Oct. 10, 1953. They were married 60 years and would have celebrated their 61st Anniversary on Oct. 10th. Raymond worked for Stevens Mill for many years until the mill closed. He worked at Arwoods in Tilton and later for Continental Machine Shop in Andover until retiring. Raymond and Lucille have five children: their daughter, Linda (Gaudette) DeFosses and Phil of Franklin, four sons: Ronald Gaudette & Eileen of Northfield, Richard Gaudette of Sanbornton, Randy Gaudette & Laura of Sanbornton, and Ryan Gaudette & Julie of Salisbury, 14 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Raymond was a very hard worker. He was an avid sports fan watching hockey, football, baseball, and NASCAR. He loved the Montreal Canadiens and the Yankees. One of his greatest moments was getting to hold The Stanley Cup. Raymond loved to hunt, fish, and garden. He took his sons ice fishing for many years. He was a walking historian. If you wanted to know anything about Franklin just ask Dad. Raymond loved going to Canada when he was growing up. Later in life, he took a trip with his children and some grandchildren showing them his family roots. He showed them where grandparents lived and where his parents grew up. He took them to the beautiful churches and cemeteries where family ancestors were buried. It was a most memorable trip, never to be forgotten by his family. Raymond was a most loving father and "Pepe". He will be missed forever by all who loved him. He was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life, on July 1, 2014. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also, sisters-in-law, Marie Barton and Stevie & Leona Braley. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Jeannette Shepherd & Donald, sisters-in-law Frances Wheeler & Cliff, Marilyn Taylor & Walt, and brother-in-law Sonny Braley. Per his request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 at 10 am in St. Paul Church, Franklin. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in memory of Raymond may be made to St Gabriel Parish, PO Box 490, Franklin, or Franklin VNA, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, NH 03235.
