OBITUARY ________________________________________ Philip Joseph Schwotzer, 88, of Franklin, New Hampshire, died peacefully at the Peabody Home in Franklin, NH on Friday, March 4, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Philip was born on April 1, 1922 in Franklin, NH, the son of Max and Irene Schwotzer. Philip was an excellent sheet metal worker and spent several years working at the Portsmouth Naval Yard. After moving to Fort Worth, Texas in the fifties, with his wife Claire and his three daughters he worked for and eventually became owner of Essner Metal Works. Phil loved studying rocks and minerals and soon became president of the Fort Worth Gem and Mineral Club. When Philip found out that he had a high IQ he was invited to join the MENSA Society. In 1981 Phil and Claire moved back to New Hampshire and found a home in Franklin. Philip worked for the Arwood Precision Casting Company in Tilton, New Hampshire for 12 years before retiring. To keep busy he spent many hours tutoring students at Franklin High School and in the spring of each year helped at the New Hampshire State Forest Nursery. Philip had many friends and was blessed to be a part of the T.R.I.P. Center family in Franklin, New Hampshire. Philip leaves three daughters, Linda A. Bates of Fort Worth, Texas and her husband Ernest, Patricia A. Sleeper of Tilton, NH and her husband Jon, Catherine Gossett of Fort Davis, Texas, and her husband Kenneth, one granddaughter, Stephanie Sholar and her husband John David and two great grandchildren, John David Sholar Jr. and Carson Sholar. The Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin, NH ( www.neunfuneralhomes.com ) is in charge of arrangements.
