Call to Order Flowers by Phone1-877-212-3610 Code: 2001526P Philip Michael Labnon September 4, 1925 - August 6, 2014 Mr. Philip Michael Labnon, 88, a resident of the New Hampshire Veteran's Home, Tilton NH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Phil was born in Berlin NH on September 4, 1925, the son of Morris and Rose (Hebbep) Labnon. He attended Berlin Schools until enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1943 where he proudly served the 5th Marine Division in Iwo Jima. Upon his Honorable discharge in1946 he returned to Berlin, met and married Jeannette Lavoie, raised a family and worked for his family's businesses. Phil loved hard work and the quiet of the outdoors where he spent many days fly-fishing and hunting. For many years he was the caretaker at Phillips Brook Lodge in Stark NH. The lodge was his second favorite place to be, the first being the racetrack. Family and friends were always important. Phil cared very much for his family. He would often express how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. He loved to reminisced about days gone by with family and friends and had great stories to tell. We were blessed to have him and his stories with us for as long as we did. He will be greatly missed. Phil is survived by his brother, Robert "Bob" Labnon of Berlin, NH; his 3 sons, David Labnon and wife, Trish of Wilton NH, Douglas Labnon, Cocoa Beach, Fl, and Darren Labnon and wife, Mary of Cocoa Fl., 2 daughters, Donna Sulley and husband, Scott, Portsmouth NH; Diane Wyman and Garry Dominguez of Kittery Point Me. Grandchildren: Strider Sulley of Portsmouth, Scott Wyman of Cocoa Beach Fl., Clay Wyman of Kittery Me., Emily Wheeler of Boca Grand, Fl., Ashley Labnon of Peterborough, NH, Kevin and Derek Labnon of Cocoa FL, and Jasmine Dayna Boyd of Cocoa Beach Fl. Great-grandchildren: Michaela and Stone Sulley of Portsmouth NH, Ella May Diaz and Grey Wheeler of Boca Grand, Fl. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette (Lavoie) Labnon; son, Dana M. Labnon; parents, Morris and Rose (Hebbep) Labnon; brothers Ralph "Navy" Labnon, Richard "Arab" Labnon, and Raymond Labnon and sisters, Emily Labnon and Josephine Weston. The family of Phil wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at the NH Veteran's Home for their warmth and wonderful care they provided to our father and grandfather. A brief graveside service will held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
