Biography TILTON-Norman D. Wardman, 84, died March 26, 2014 at the New Hampshire Veteran's Home with his family at his side. He was born May 31, 1929, in Long Beach, California, to Clyde Martin (Bus) and M. Virginia Wardman. Norm lived in California until he moved to New England with his family in 1975. He lived in Hancock from 1979-1990 and in New Boston from 1990 to 2008. Norm served in the Air Force from 1948 to 1954, on active duty during the Korean War, where he spent time on bases in Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Alaska, Alabama, Florida, Kansas, and Arizona. His bachelor's degree from Long Beach State College was in Industrial Engineering, and throughout his career, he worked as a manufacturing manager for companies such as Fairchild Semiconductor, New Hampshire Ball Bearing, Pneumo Precision, and Burndy Corporation. Norm loved to travel with his late wife Heléne and their family, beginning with their marriage in Hong Kong, camping trips throughout the West with their children, and later on extensive trips to Scandinavia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Alaska, and Europe. He was also a skilled craftsman and woodworker. Norm loved to build and fly model airplanes and also rebuilt a Reliant Scimitar, which won many first-place prizes in classic car shows around New England. He was predeceased by his wife Heléne in 2007. His beloved family includes daughters Marilyn R. (Charlie) Yaqub of San Felipe, Mexico, Susan (Nicholas) Manha of Wilton, Kellie T. Wardman of Dunbarton; and sons Mark O. (Kathe) Wardman of Santa Barbara, California and Michael R. (Sarah) Wardman of St. George, Maine; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private services will be held for the family. Norm will be buried with his wife Heléne at the New Hampshire Veterans' Cemetery in Boscawen.
