Maurice N Rose, 88, died on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Franklin Hospital. He was born on January 23, 1924 the son of Benjamin and Rose (Newman) Rosenblum. He was a resident of the NH Veterans home LEDU unit since 2009. Mauri as referred to by his friends and family served his country during World War II. He was an airplane commander and pilot of a B-24 Liberator Bomber. He entered into the war at the last stages of battle and flew 21 missions. He served with a crew of 11 men. His instructions were not to destroy anything that could help reconstruct Germany and its people. They would fly in groups of seven planes in formation as a squadron and four squadrons to the group wing tip to wing tip. Maurice joined the US Air Force Reserves in 1945, he then became an Air Force Academy Liaison Officer as a reservist and retired as a Major. He retired from the reserves in 1983. He counseled boys for the air force academy and talked at the high schools and advised boys on how to join the air force academy. He became an Ombudsman for Lawrence General Hospital in Medford MA. After retiring he was an entrepreneur who ran several long running businesses in Boston. He was predeceased by his brothers Leon and Joseph Rosenblum. His twin brother Gershen Rosenblum still resides in Cape Cod, MA; Family members include his wife of 45 years, Angela (Luongo) of Boston, MA, his three daughters Diane (DeLia) and her husband Eugene Gaul, SaraLee (DeLia) and her husband Larry Goldstein, Andrea (Rose) Barr; Five grandchildren Edward O'Bin and his wife Carrie, Keith O'Bin and his wife Patricia (Giles) O'Bin, Melissa (Fino) Arroyo and her husband James Arroyo, Mallory Goldstein and Morgan Goldstein; Three great-grandchildren Ashley Fino, Nicholas O'Bin and Sophia Arroyo; Uncle to Janice, Richard and Laura, Great-Uncle to Michael and Ryan Gray. He had many friends throughout his life. He will be remembered in a full military service at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on June 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
