Franklin, NH Mrs. Mary L. (Murphy) Sawicki, 81, of Franklin, died at Mtn. Ridge Health Care Center in Franklin on April 12, 2013. She was born in Franklin on May 21, 1931 the daughter of William F. and Florida Murphy. Mary was raised in Concord by her aunt and uncle, Anna Murphy and Robert Murphy. She was a long time Franklin resident and summered in York Beach, ME for many years. She graduated from St. John High School in Concord and attended Westbrook Junior College in Portland, ME. Mary graduated from Mount St. Mary College in Hooksett. Mary was a school teacher for many years teaching in Belmont, Nashua, and St. Mary School in Franklin. She taught in the Franklin School District for 35 years. She was named to Who's Who Among American Teachers. She was a communicant of St. Paul Church. Mary enjoyed knitting and sewing, watching the Red Sox and Celtics, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband, Edmund "Squeak" Sawicki, died in 1996. Family members include 2 daughters: Maryann Lewis and her husband Brian of Concord, and Joann Page and her husband Logan of Massillon, OH, 2 sons: Stephen R. Sawicki and his wife Tricia of Northfield, and James R. Sawicki of Northfield, 6 grandchildren: Lindze Hardy and her husband Michael, Nicole Lewis, Logan L. Page, Langdon Page, Symmantha Page, and Kyle Sawicki. Mary's first great grandchild, Lucas Michael Hardy, is due in May. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 17th from 6-8 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 18th at 10 am in St. Paul Church. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
