Mark Nelson

March 25, 1969 — October 6, 2014

Mark A. Nelson, 45, passed away on Oct. 6, 2014 after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was at Maine Medical Center in Portland ME for a period of time and had been surrounded by his family and friends every day he was there. He passed peacefully with his fiancé' and newborn son with him. Mark lived most of young adult life in Boscawen and attended Merrimack Valley High School. He was a jack of all trades loved working with rocks and stones and always had a smile on his face and loved to make everyone BELLY laugh. He loved all of his children and was very supportive of his oldest son, Jake with handmade banners for his football team, attending as many games as his health allowed him. He loved all sports and had recently attended a Red Sox game with his son Jake, met players and was given a World Series Red Sox ring from them. He also went on a vacation given by the Dream Foundation for adults in the spring with his family and swam with the dolphins. Mark has made the most of his short time with his illness, riding his bike with his little dog Chico on the back after having chemo for 3 hours, fishing, going to the beach, family vacations at Smugglers Notch and the cottage in Cushing Maine as well. He is predeceased by his father Alan B. Nelson and is survived by his mother, Bonnie Wyss and her husband Carl, his brother Steven and his wife Sonia, a nephew, Tyler Nelson, nieces, Sara Nelson, Bridget Cusson, Felicia Jackson, and Ashleigh Fife, fiancé' Heather Dudley, her son Ezekiel Mark Nelson. Son, Jake Nelson, daughters Kaitlyn Audet and Ashley Nelson, aunts and uncles and many cousins, extended family and many many friends. Mark was loved and will be missed by all that knew him. Funeral services will be at the Congregational Church in Boscawen on Friday, Oct. 10th at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Maine Medical Center 27 Bramhall St., Portland ME. 044102 c/o Deb Linscott, in c/o the Gibson Pavilion or to the Cancer Center of York County, 27 Industrial Ave. Sanford, Maine c/o One Day at a Time Fund, where Mark spent a lot of time at both places and was taken care so wonderfully or to a charity of one's choice.
