Franklin, NH Mrs. Marguerite "Peggy" Martell, 80, of Franklin, died peacefully at Concord Hospital on July 29, 2014. Peggy was born in Wolfeboro on June 15, 1934 the daughter of Albert and Pearl (Ricker) Verrill. She was raised in Tilton and graduated from Tilton-Northfield High School in 1953. She formerly resided in Salisbury moving to Franklin several years ago. Several years ago, Peggy was employed at the former NH Highway Hotel in Concord. She lastly was employed by the State of NH Dept. of Health and Human Services for twenty years until retiring. Following retirement, Peggy worked at Deroys Market in Tilton. She is the widow of Paul R. Martell. Peggy enjoyed flower gardening, collecting clowns, and was an avid reader. Family members include her children, Bruce W. Martell and his wife Virginia of Campton, Rhonda King and husband Brian of Boscawen, and Rodney F. Martell of Lakeport, 3 stepchildren, Cathy Braley and husband Peter of Goffstown, Sandy O'Shaughnessy and husband Tim of Manchester, and Paul Martell and wife Brenda of Bedford, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Louise Blocker of Northfield, Elsie Sanborn of Keene, and Alice Berry of Laconia, and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 2 brothers: John Verrill in 1948 and George E. Verrill in 1998. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 from 2-5:00 pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A Graveside service will be held Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at 11 am in Maplewood Cemetery, Salisbury. Donations in memory of Peggy made be made to Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301.
