Obituary

CONCORD --- M. Lorraine Halle, 92, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026 in Concord, NH, surrounded by family and Birches' caregivers who loved her deeply.

Lorraine was born on April 13, 1934 in Hanover, New Hampshire, to Henry and Amanda Camirand, one of four children.

Lorraine was a vivacious spirit who lit up every room she entered. She had a gift for conversation and could talk to anyone, whether a lifelong friend or someone she had just met. She remembered the details of people's lives and asked about them with genuine interest, which made everyone around her feel cared for and seen. It's no wonder she had so many friends, and she treasured every one of them.

She graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Manchester. For many years, Lorraine worked as a data entry operator at Amoskeag Bank in Manchester, and over the years, lived in Manchester, Hooksett, her retirement years in Florida, and in her later years, Concord.

A devoted Catholic, Lorraine drew strength from her faith throughout her life. She faced many challenges along the way, yet she never lost her optimism or her ability to find joy in each day.

Lorraine loved music, travel, playing the piano, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She and her husband Richard spent many happy years in Florida, where they truly savored retirement, playing golf, swimming and soaking up the sunshine together.

Lorraine is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years, Richard Halle of Concord, her son, Dennis O'Dowd (and his partner, Deborah Houston) of Chicago; and her beloved stepchildren, Carol (Halle) Beauchemin (and her husband, Alden) of Newbury and Jonathan Halle (and his wife, Lorie) of Concord. She was a proud "Memere" to her grandchildren, Kiki, Sean, Brian, Kyle, Reid, Cole, Elise, Garrett, and Briar; and to her great-granddaughters, Elle and Saoirse. She is also survived by her sister Rose Marie (Camirand) Tremblay, and her brothers, Henry Camirand and Ronald Camirand, and many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul O'Dowd.

Lorraine will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Her warmth, her curiosity about others and her bright spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 22, 2026, with a visitation/showing at the Christ the King Parish Church, 72 S Main St., Concord, NH at 11 am, followed by a funeral Mass at 12 noon. Graveside services to follow at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Granite VNA of Concord, NH or the American Diabetes Association.
