Obituary

With heavy hearts and joyful memories, we announce the passing of Louise May Coates, aged 88, who departed this life peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the Peabody Home in Franklin. Born on February 16, 1938, in Laconia, New Hampshire, Louise was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Louise is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Sirles, her cherished granddaughter, Michelle Aiken, and her daughter in-law Judith Sirles who were devoted to her care and shared many precious moments with her in her later years. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ingram, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren who each held a special place in her heart. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and infectious enthusiasm and always loved a good joke that could make you blush. A dedicated cook in the healthcare industry, Louise spent many rewarding years working at Merrimack County Nursing Home, where she nourished both body and spirit with her culinary creations.

An avid doll collector, Louise found joy in her cherished dolls, each one a treasured companion in her life. Her passion for cooking and baking was well known, and her family and friends will forever remember the delightful meals and baked goods that brought everyone together.

In celebration of her vibrant life, a visitation will take place at the Thibault-Neun Funeral Home on September 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, allowing friends and family to gather and share in joyful memories of Louise. Following this, a graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at 2:30 PM, where we will honor her spirit and lay her to rest. Following the graveside service there will be a celebration of her life at the Franklin VFW at 39 Peabody place, Franklin.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband; Marland "Monk" Coates, her parents; Ernest and Edna (Abbott) Colburn, her children; Chet Sirles, Joseph Sirles and Cynthia Huard.
