Franklin NH-Leo Robert Sargent passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 at the Concord Hospice Center, Concord, NH at the age of 92.
Born January 13, 1932, in Franklin, NH, Leo dedicated his life to his family, community and Country.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School, Franklin, NH Class of 1951.
Upon graduation, Leo served in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. A proud Veteran, his service is a testament of his deep patriotism.
Upon returning home from the service, he began his career at the Lewis Verza Company, Franklin, NH. He was then employed for thirty-six years at Acme Staple Company, Franklin, NH, before retirement.
For many years, he enjoyed hunting yard sales which included hunting for antique bottles and vintage items.
He was an avid fan of American muscle cars, having owned a few himself including a Pontiac GTO.
In his later years, he enjoyed assisting his brother Doug dismantling scrap units for recycling. He also enjoyed visiting with Kathy at the scrap yard.
His willingness to offer a helping hand to family and friends was well known, and he will be deeply missed.
Leo is survived by his brother, Douglas Allen Sargent and his wife Debbie, as well as his sister-in-law Louise Sargent, brother-in-law Hollis Morrill and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Eva May (Clement) Sargent and Forrest James Sargent. Brothers Clayton Forrest Sargent, Richard Arthur Sargent and Forrest "Skippy" Sargent, Jr. and sisters Thelma May Sargent, Irene Rose Sargent Picard, Eleanor Marion Sargent Le Blanc, Rose Marie Sargent Annis, Barbara Sargent Morrill, and Sandra Jean Sargent Bleggi.
Graveside services will be held on November 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Franklin Cemetery, 32 Thompsom Park, Franklin, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shawn Sargent Memorial Football Scholarship. All donations should be sent to: Franklin High School, 119 Central Street Franklin, NH 03235, Attn: Kathy Viau.
