Kenneth Simpson, 87, of Franklin, was surrounded by his family when he went to be with
His Lord and Savior on September 5th, 2024 after a short illness.
Ken grew up in Flushing, NY where he attended Flushing Baptist Church and met and
married his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia.
After graduating from Flushing High School, Ken received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy
from King’s College in Briar Cliff Manor, NY. He also earned an Associate’s Degree in
Construction Technology from New York Community College in NY, NY.
Ken worked as a construction estimator for Bethlehem Steele in NY, NY, Pike Industries in
Tilton, NH, and RC Foss & Sons in Pittsfield, NH. In later years, Ken worked for Prescription
Center in Concord, NH and enjoyed interacting with clients when he delivered their
medications to them.
Ken was a devout man of faith and served the Lord as a deacon at Contoocook Baptist
Church in Contoocook, NH and as an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church in Laconia, NH.
He also sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.
Ken had a passion for reading books on all subjects and was a lover of classical music. He
had a fascination with trains and liked to play ping pong, mini golf, and go bowling. Ken and
his wife Patricia took many trips around the country visiting family and seeing sites along
the way.
Ken was a kind, gentle, man with a tender heart. Under his quiet demeanor lay a witty
sense of humor and keen intellect. He deeply loved God, his church, his family, and his
friends.
Ken is survived by his wife, Patricia Simpson of Franklin; his children, Gregory Simpson of
Franklin, and Stephanie Taylor and her husband, Philip, of Tucson, AZ; and his
grandchildren, Evan Taylor, Brendan (Jesse) Taylor, Danielle Simpson, and Sabrina O’Keefe.
He is predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Hazel Simpson, and his brother Howard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Deacon’s Fund at Grace
Presbyterian Church 174 Province St., Laconia, NH 03246.
