Judith A. Knight

Judith Miquelon Knight of Mountain Ridge Center in Franklin, NH passed away peacefully on August 11th with her God-Daughter Lisa and roommate Lynn by her side. She was born on November 29th ,1938 and was the daughter of Joseph Miquelon and Ruby (Burrill) Miquelon. She was raised in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School in 1956. She went on to graduate from the Lakes Region School of Nursing in 1959 and later attended Saint Anselm College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1964. She later resided in Norward Mass and moved to Tilton in 1987.

She taught Fundamentals of Nursing at the lakes Region School of Nursing, and it is there that she bonded with her student Bo Fontaine and later became God mother to her daughter Lisa. She also taught at the Henry O. Peabody School of Practical Nursing in the late 1960’s and was appointed Director of the program in 1968 where she held the position until retiring in 1987. She re-entered the workforce as the Coordinator of Education at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton from 1987 -1998 and then retired again.

She is survived by cousins, her God-daughter Lisa Fontaine-Storez and the rest of the Fontaine family, Niece -Anita Fontaine -Caron and her Husband Roger, her Nephew- Mark Fontaine and his wife Vanessa, and her very dear friend Beulah (Bo) Fontaine. She is also survived by another close friend, Donna Thompson. She was predeceased by her mother Ruby and father Joseph as well as her sister Elizabeth Mae Miquelon in 1937.

Graveside services will be at the Franklin Cemetery at 330pm on Friday August 30th. A Mass in memory of Judith will be celebrated on Saturday, September 7th at 8:00 am St. Paul Church/ St. Gabriel Parish on School St. in Franklin.

Memorial donations can be made to the Saint Anselm College Alumni Fund or the Saint Joseph Indian School, Chamberlain, SD, 57326. The Fontaine family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Ridge in Franklin for the care and companionship they provided to our Dear Aunt Judy.
