Joyce Mckinnon

Joyce Edna (Pray) McKinnon, 75, of Northfield, NH passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on Monday, May 22, 2017. Joyce was born in Andover, MA on October 27, 1941 to the late Charles and Edna Woodbury. On New Year's Eve in 1960, Joyce married the late Harry McKinnon, Sr. After raising her children, Joyce obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and later earned her Master's Degree in Human Services as well from New Hampshire College. Joyce worked for the State of New Hampshire at the Division of Children, Youth and Families as a Social Worker Supervisor for a number of years before retiring as a Child Protective Services Worker in 2013. Joyce was both proud and passionate about her career, especially the children and families she worked with. Joyce loved country music, animals, cooking, traveling and most of all spending time with her family. All who had the pleasure of knowing Joyce knew she considered being a devoted mother and grandmother her greatest accomplishments. Joyce was a best friend to many and she touched countless lives with her humor, love and generosity. Joyce is survived by her eight children: Kelly, Patricia, Harry and his wife Juliet, Beverly and her husband Peter, Donna and her husband Tim, Rebekah and her husband Jeffrey, Elisabeth, Nicole and her husband Erik; brother John and his wife Miriam, twenty-five grandchildren; and her lifelong best friends: Don and Marge. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Kristie. A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 11 AM at the Andover Congregational Church, 7 Chase Hill Road, East Andover, NH.
