Jon Sleeper

Jon Butterfield Sleeper, age 77, a lifelong resident of Tilton, NH died peacefully at home with his wife and family at his side. Jon was born in Tilton, NH Oct. 3, 1938 son of the late Joseph N. Sleeper and the late Isabelle L. Sleeper. Jon was a graduate of Tilton-Northfield High School, Class of 1958. Following graduation Jon worked in the engineer department at the former Arwood Corporation in Northfield, NH and retired from Arwood 43 years later. Jon served in the NH National Guard 197th Artillery Battalion for seven years where he was an excellent marksman. He had a great love of the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman and made many friends along the way. Jon was a member of the National Rifle Association where he taught Hunter Safety classes. Jon was always generous with his wisdom and found great pleasure in sharing the ways of the woods, working on cars and helping his family and neighbors build and repair just about anything. Jon was predeceased by his brother Joseph R, Sleeper, his brother Richard D Sleeper and his two sisters:-Barbara L. Veator and Rose Marie Valliere. Jon is survived by his wife, Patricia Sleeper, his son, Raymond Sleeper and daughter-in- law Laura Sleeper and their children, Ian, Abigael and Aidan, his brother George Sleeper, his brother Andrew Sleeper and his wife Deseria and their son Nicholas and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at the Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield, NH Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 4:00 pm. Donations in memory of Jon may be made to a charity of one's choice.
