John Dagata

Franklin, NH Mr. John C. Dagata, 94, of Boscawen, died at The Goldencrest on June 4, 2011. John was born in New Britain, CT on March 30, 1917 the son of Vincent and Theresa Dagata. He resided in Northampton, MA for several years before moving to the Franklin area in 1980. During World War II, John served in the US Army as a Corporal serving in Europe. For several years, he was employed at Kollmorgen Electro-Optical in Northampton until his retirement. John enjoyed golf for many years and played mostly at Mojalaki Country Club and Lochmere Country Club. His wife, Stella (Weglarz) Dagata, died in 2003. John was a member of the Franklin Elks Lodge #1280. Family members include a grandchild, Traci Lovejoy and her husband Jim of FL, a brother, William Dagata of Boca Raton, FL, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Vincent, 3 brothers, Weedo, Raymond, and Victor, and a sister, Rose Vento. Friends may call at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin on Friday (June 10th) from 9:00 am until 9:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am in St. Paul Church. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NH Assn. For The Blind, 25 Walker St., Concord, NH 03301.
