Joan Carlson

Sanbornton, NH? Mrs. Joan E. Carlson, 79, of Sanbornton, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on Sept. 10, 2010. She was born in Arlington, MA on June 11, 1931 the daughter of Howard and Clara (Root) Carlson. Joan was raised in Medford, MA and moved to NH over 30 years ago. She received her BS from UMASS at Amherst. She was active in her community for many years. She assisted with The American Red Cross, and was an EMT and former member of Franklin Fire Dept. Rescue Squad. While residing in New Jersey, she was asst. curator at the Patterson (NJ) Museum. Family members include her children: Bonnie Brown of Stockholm, NJ, Lawrence Jethro ""Jed"" Brown and Kenneth D. Brown, both of Plainwell, Michigan, and a sister, Martha Douglas of Sanbornton. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, Franklin, NH ( www.neunfuneralhomes.com ) is assisting with arrangements.
