Janice Plaisted

d. April 5, 2021

Mrs. Janice (Chisholm) Plaisted, 89, of Boscawen, died peacefully at home on April 5, 2021.

Janice was born May 30th, 1931 in Medford, MA. She moved to NH with her parents as a young girl. Janice grew up in Concord and married Benjamin Plaisted, with whom she raised a family. Many knew her from her years working at Ballard's Novelty & Party Shop (in and out of clown make-up), and later the New Hampshire Clocks store on Main Street.

Janice is best remembered for her warm smile, enthusiastic laughter, and generous spirit. She loved sunny beach days, and spent many happy summers at Wells Beach in Maine. Janice loved animals and was often seen with a small, furry sidekick of a dog. She also loved children, and was a joyful presence in the lives of her grandchildren and their friends, who all knew her as "Mimi." She treasured her friends, and a great joy in her later years was regular brunch dates with "the girls."

She is predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Plaisted, her mother, Laura Demers, and her father, Joseph Demers.

Janice is survived by her children: Pollyanna Plaisted, Linda Vayens, Joel Paige, Larry Plaisted, and Jeff Plaisted; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Janice held her friends as close as family, and is also survived by her dear friends Doris Moody and Ann Vaughan.

A graveside service will be held at the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery on April 12th at 2pm, followed by a reception at Alan's Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Janice's generosity by making a donation to the Pope Memorial SPCA at 94 Silk Farm Road, Concord, NH 03301, or to your local food bank or pet rescue organization.

Thibault-Neun Funeral Home in Franklin is assisting with arrangements.  For on online guestbook please visit www.neunfuneralhomes.com
