OBITUARY East Andover, NH James M. Keniston, Jr., 90, passed Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 in the comfort of his home. He was born in East Andover on April 27, 1921 to the late James M. Keniston, Sr. and Maud (Severance) Keniston. He lived most of his life in East Andover. Mr. Keniston served our country during World War II in the US Air Force. His tour of duty included North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. Following the War, he started his own dairy farm and worked at Bristol Dry Cleaners. Later, he worked at JP Stevens in Franklin until it closed. He then worked for twenty years at Riverside Millworks in Penacook. Mr. Keniston was a past member of the East Andover Fire Dept., and the Andover Lions Club. He was an active member of Bristol VFW Post #10640. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He was an avid reader and loved working his garden and feeding the birds. Each year, he looked forward to the annual gathering to press cider. Family members include his wife of 65 years., Dorothy (Preble) Keniston, 2 sons: James M Keniston III of Hines, OR, and Roger Keniston of Concord, 2 daughters, Druscilla Gauthier of Franklin and Nancy Woodward of Franklin, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven sisters, Lois Tilton, Helen Carlisle, Georgia Woodley, Iris Rice, Florence Sanborn Severance, Una Brooks Hallinan, & Mildred Palmer, and 2 brothers, James E. Keniston and Percival Mills. A Visiting hour will be held Friday, Jan. 27th from 1-2:00 pm at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin, NH. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm.
