Howard Cilley, Sr

Mr. Howard A. Cilley, Sr., 84, of Tilton, died at Lakes Region General Hospital on Aug. 6, 2016. He was born in Hill, NH on April 9, 1932 the son of Charles Raymond Cilley and Ethelyn (Miner) Cilley. Howard was raised in Franklin and resided in Tilton for 43 years. During the Korean War, he served as a Corporal in the US Army. He is a life member of American Legion Post #1 in Laconia and also VFW Post 10505803 in Ban Chang, Thailand. Mr. Cilley previously worked at Scott & Williams in Laconia, Lemay's Recon Ctr. in Gilford, and lastly for Aavid Engineering. Family members include his wife of 64 years, Valerie (Bighley) Cilley of Tilton, 3 children: Rosanne E. Cilley of Tilton, Raymond C. Cilley of NH, and Douglas W. Cilley and wife Em of Thailand , 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a brother, Charles Cilley of Winnisquam, a sister, Jeannette Hannan of Franklin, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Howard A. Cilley, Jr. in 2008 and a sister, Viola Keith in 2007. A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 at 10 am at NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
