OBITUARY Northfield, NH Mr. Hiawatha F. Dunphe, 82, of Northfield, died at his home on June 21, 2012. He was born in Oxford, MA on Feb. 13, 1930 the son of Frank and Ethel (Gosler) Dunphe. Mr. Dunphe was raised in Oxford and resided in NH since the fifties. During the Korean War, he served in the US Army attaining the rank of Corporal. He was formerly employed for several years at The Arwood Corp. in Northfield. Several years ago he worked as a correctional officer at the Merrimack County Jail. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and camping. Hi also enjoyed dancing. He was a life member of Franklin VFW Post #1698. Family members include his wife of 36 years, Yvette (Tetreault) Dunphe of Northfield, a daughter, Tally Wentworth of Franklin, stepchildren: Bonnie Dion of Franklin, Gail Wall of Deltona, FL, Crystal Tilton, of Franklin, Darlene Duncan of Greenville, SC, Allan Bacon of Boscawen, and Roger Steele of Concord, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 brothers: Raymond Dunphe of Oxford, MA and Arthur Dunphe of Madison, ME, a sister, Edna Nault of Northfield, and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son Ronald Wentworth in 2001, a brother, John Dunphe in 2001, and a sister, Ada Dunphe in 1936. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11:00 am in the chapel of NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to assist his family.
