Henry Alan Hall, 80, of Tilton, New Hampshire, peacefully passed away in his home on September 17, 2023.
He was born to John and Elizabeth Hall on June 19, 1943, in Sanford, Maine. Shortly after his father's return from WWII, they moved to Berwick, Maine, where much of his young life was spent helping on the family dairy farm. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine, Gorham. His dedication to education led him to further academic success, earning a Master's Degree in Education. Henry was known for his unwavering passion for history, and he imparted this love to many students during his career.
In his youth, Henry's athletic prowess shone brightly as he became a baseball star at Berwick High School. Beyond the sports field, he was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, finding joy in fly fishing adventures with his friends and embarking on camping expeditions around Moosehead Lake. He loved the ocean and spent several summers working at Wells and Ogunquit beaches.
Henry was renowned for his humor, consistently ready with the perfect joke or anecdote to fit any situation. His quick wit and charismatic personality brought happiness to all those who knew and loved him. As a dedicated fan of major league sports, his loyalty to his favorite Boston and New England teams was unwavering.
Henry is survived by his children, David and Debra. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth, his sister, Karen, and several cousins.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal services held. In true Henry fashion, he left a humorous note before his passing, stating, "If anyone feels the need for a service, be my guest – I do not wish to be present."
Henry's memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to share in his laughter, wisdom, and love. He will be dearly missed.
