Helen Nelson

Mrs. Helen Mae Nelson 89, of Boscawen, died at Merrimack County Nursing Home on Feb. 23, 2016. She was born in Bar Harbor, ME on Nov. 5, 1926 the daughter of Sterling and Phyllis Mae (Hastey) Hanscom. Helen resided in Boscawen for many years. She formerly worked at Beede Electric prior to retiring and also at The Tupperware Warehouse in Bow. Helen was a member of the The Eastern Star in Penacook for over 30 years, a former member of Franklin BPW, and former member of Franklin Emblem Club. Family members include her husband of 69 years, Arthur B. Nelson of Boscawen, her daughter, JoAnn Keates of Tavares, FL, daughter in-law Bonnie Nelson Wyss of Boscawen, 6 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Alan B. Nelson who died July 15, 2004 and her grandson Mark Alan Nelson who died Oct. 6, 2014. A private service will be held in the spring.
