Oberg, 88, of 21 Barefoot Place , died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Lakes Region General Hospital from complications of pneumonia and heart disease. She was born November 1, 1922 in Lynn , MA , one of twin daughters of Harold F. and Annie E (Haley) Fitzgerald. Harriet was raised on the Northshore, living in Swampscott, Lynn and Marblehead . Following high school she went on to earn her nursing degree through the Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for over 50 years at Boston City Hospital and others around the Northshore. Harriet was proud of having worked at Boston City Hospital during the Coconut Grove Fire and later with her sister and brother-in-law Dr. Sumner Kreplick in Lynn , MA . Granny, as she was known by friends, loved to care for her family, friends, and pets. Family members include: daughter (and son-in-law) Harriet and Edward Redmond of Gilford; grandchildren (and spouses): Gina Mercuri of Everett, MA and Nick and Anne Marie Mercuri of Gilford; great grandchildren: David and Samantha Weisberg and Lauren and Joe Mercuri; nieces and nephews: Joseph Kreplick of FL; Dr. Sandra Ferbeck & Eric Russell of Chicago, IL and Drs. Jane and Sam Brody of NY. Services-Calling hours will be Monday, April 25, 2011 from 6-8pm at the Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park Street, Northfield. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, Church St. Laconia.
