Harold Carl Tilton, age 71, of Syracuse, Utah, passed away peacefully on 26 May 2026. Born on 28 November 1954 in France, he was the child of MSgt Wilfred James Tilton of Tilton, New Hampshire and Maria Aloisia Ostermaier of Salzburg, Austria. He was the husband of his second wife, Robyn Lee Schatz, whom he married in 2002. Harold joined the Air Force in 1975 working as an aircraft mechanic until 1982 when he joined the active reserves retiring in 1997. He pursued a civilian career as an aircraft mechanic working with C130s at Hill Air Force Base retiring in 2021. He is survived by four children of his first wife, Jill Webster - Jennifer Tilton Ridenour, Chrystal Stanford, Jeremy Tilton, and Katie Sorensen along with eight grandchildren - Brooklyn, Ryker, Kylee, Andrew, Tanner, Preston, Haley, and Kynlea. He centered his life outside of work on his beloved family. He enjoyed working on cars and spent a lot of time rebuilding his 1961 Chevy Apache and attending car shows all while teaching his children to work on their cars along with painting model cars and trains. He took his family on many vacations including Yellowstone and a trip to New Hampshire to meet his family. He took pride in spending time with his grandchildren teaching them to cook, playing games, and watching Disney movies with them. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jill Webster, his mother and father, and a sister, Myrna Lee Durgin. His remaining siblings, Maria Christine Mack and Kenneth George Tilton of New Hampshire, and Wilfred James Tilton of Hawaii, are asking for prayers for those he left behind. His remains will be buried in Park Cemetery in Tilton, New Hampshire on 23 July at 10am.
