H. Russell Morrison

H. Russell Morrison, 84, of Tilton, NH, died at NH Veterans Home in Tilton on May 30, 2015. He was born in Tilton on Jan. 3, 1931 the son of Charles Newton Morrison and Pauline Vivian (Greene) Morrison. Mr. Morrison served in the US Air Force from 1948 until discharge as a Staff SGT in 1952. He was employed as an air traffic controller for 26 years retiring from the Reno, NY tower in July 1973. At that time, he moved to Williams, OR where he built his own house. In June 1979, he was conferred the Degree of Associate Science - Forest Industries from Rogue Community College. in Grants Pass, OR. In the early 80's, his wife and he ran their own business for 10 years, Health and Educational Resources, which held classes for RN's re-entry into the nursing field. During this time, he assisted his wife in writing two text books for nursing studies. Russ retired and returned to his birthplace, Tilton, NH in 2007. Family members include his daughter, Kim Morrison of Eugene, OR, two sons: David R. Morrison of Auburn, WA and Brian Morrison of Baker, NY, his companion, Louise Blocker of Northfield, and grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held privately for his family at Park Cemetery, Tilton, NH. Donations in memory of Mr. Morrison may be made to NH Veterans Home (Patient Activity Fund), 139 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276.
