Georgia Belle Yarbrough, 84, of Northfield, died at Merrimack County Nursing Home on March 20, 2024. She was born in Franklin on July 4, 1939, the daughter of Victor Watson Stanton and Doris Evelyn (Burleigh) Stanton.
She was a graduate of Tilton-Northfield High School and resided in the Tilton – Northfield area her whole life.
Georgia was employed at Stevens Mill from 1965-1970 and later worked at Mtn. Hollow Egg Farm in Northfield from 1974 until retirement in 2005. She was an active member of the Tilton-Northfield United Methodist and was a member of the church choir. Georgia also volunteered at the Franklin Methodist Church food pantry.
Her husband of 52 years, John R. Yarbrough, Sr. died in 2010.
Family members include four children: Michael E. Yarbrough (Laurie Robichaud) of Tilton, Evelyn Bourassa (Claude) of Berlin, John R. Yarbrough, Jr. (Suzanne) of Belmont, and Timothy J. Yarbrough (Marilyn) of Bristol, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, her sisters, Janice Piper and Linda Montambault, both of West Kingston, RI,
and Sandy Robinson of Franklin, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband and parents, a sister, Esther Fitzgerald, and brothers, Robert and Danny Stanton.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 28th from 11:00am – 1:00 pm at Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park St., Northfield. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post 49, 4 Park St. in Northfield. Burial will be in Arch Hill Cemetery in Northfield at a later date.
