Gaylene M. Sargent

"Gaylene “Lene,” “Mama” Marie Sargent, born on March 7, 1963, peacefully passed away in her sleep at her childhood home in Franklin, NH on October 12, 2023. She was a loving mother to her two children, Felicia Berube and Blair Berube, who were her entire world.
Growing up in Franklin, NH, Gaylene graduated from Franklin High School in 1981. She pursued her passion as a talented floral designer, leaving her creative touch in numerous flower shops throughout the Lakes Region. She also owned and operated her own shop, Central Square Florist, in Bristol, NH.
A free spirit and an artistic, gentle soul, Gaylene expressed herself through singing and painting, leaving behind a lifetime of beautiful memories. She found solace spending time in nature with her many pets over the years, from her treasured horses Kiowa and Blue to her beloved Shetland sheepdogs Rosie and Will. An avid reader, she and her daughter often read series in tandem, and she cherished lunch and movie dates with her son.
Gaylene was predeceased by her father, Richard Sargent. In addition to her children, Gaylene is survived by her mother, Louise Sargent, her brothers Gregory Sargent and Richard Sargent II, and several nephews, cousins, countless friends, and her loyal cat, Nemo.
A service to celebrate Gaylene’s life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Sanbornton, NH, on Saturday, October 21, at 10 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Shawn Boisvert. The family asks that guests wear bright colors in honor of Gaylene’s love of flowers. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the vestry.
